I've posted the contents of this old jewelry box that once belonged to my aunt before but I ran out of time to take a new picture today and since I'd taken this only a few days ago as a "just in case" photo, it came in handy today! The beaded bracelet in the back was made by a friend of mine from college days; the stone bracelet by another friend in 2000. The thin beaded necklace underneath them was my mother's but I've never worn it (it's too small for me) and the purple flowers were on the tables at the reception of my nephew Joshua when he got married (oh no- I don't remember the year!!). I've had the marble so long, I don't remember where it came from or why it's in the jewelry box and the stone is also a mystery to my memory but I'm thinking it had to be a gift from a child. So here you have a collection of trinkets whose value is grand in sentimentality but small in monetary measures. But isn't that true of all trinkets? In fact it's my guess that trinkets may be some of the most valuable things we own because of the stories and people attached to them- especially if they come from grandchildren!
@onewing That's a good one! I do have a bag of marbles from a craft store but they are not as pretty as this one. I have no idea where it came from now. But I'm not likely to get rid of it!
The marble is a must. I have a jar of marbles, when my daughter says I have lost them, I can show her where they are.
Thank you my friends- I can hardly call you trinkets, but I do treasure you!
Thank you Kathy and Wendy!
