Two Lights- The Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse

Joan and I saw two lights for the price of one today, as this post, and the one tomorrow were in walking distance of each other. The Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse is the eastern light and it overlooks Casco Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. It was built in 1828 in the Gothic Revival style. The Cape Elizabeth lighthouse is automated now, but still active in guiding ships along the coast. Its greatest claim to fame is having been painted by artist Edward Hopper twice with one of his paintings of it being featured as a US postage stamp in 1929.

I am once again overloading your feeds! Please pass by most of these posts which are a desperate attempt on my part to catch up with my project. I understand there are too many of them so I won't be offended if you only comment on one or two!
