@miley89 I love watching the children make them. They are so pleased with themselves when they do it right! Thanks for the view Miley! @kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @peterdegraaff Thanks Peter! The children come into the sanctuary waving them, but leave with their palms made into the cross- a sign of what is to come.
@bkbinthecity Thank you Brian! I did. I hope you did too! @kimmistephens Thank you Kimmi! blessings! @karenann Thank you Karenann! It's a very special week ahead of us. @nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole. I do believe the red cushion makes the difference since red is the opposite of green on the color wheel.
We have palm branches but no one ties them like this. I wonder why that custom is not part of our tradition. We process from the Fellowship Hall outside down the sidewalk, waving our palms and into the sanctuary singing, "All Glory, Laud and Honor" Very stirring.
There are quite nice looking. You know, it wasn't until the Pastor got up front and began talking about Palm Sunday that I relaized it was today. That's terrible to be so busy that you forget things like this.
@allie912 Thanks Allison. Some folks do and some don't. We didn't in the church I grew up in, but this church does. I do remember processing with the palms and singing that hymn (one I loved and always looked forward to singing in this season). @digitalrn Thank you Rick. Last year I became editor of our church's Lenten Devotional and I think that has helped us as a congregation to prepare. The members write them and I compile them and then they are handed out to those who want to read them during the 40 days of Lent. It does help keep the calendar straight!
@rhubbard Thank you Richard! I'm glad it was meaningful to you because it is to me as well. @filsie65 Thank you Phil. I think the children enjoy being able to work on them during the service. I think the moms are glad it keeps them quiet! @cimes1 Thank you Carole!
@sangwann Thanks Dione! The picture found me! @prttblues Thanks Bev! Yes some people have experiences that turn them off. It's too bad, but it happens.
