Thank you everyone! My apologies for a mass thank you but I'm doing this without my glasses right now and I keep hitting the wrong buttons when I'm thanking you individually! This shot literally fell out of the sky and as for what caused the leaf to look this way, I don't think it was snails or caterpillars because the nest is too far off the ground, but it's probably wear and tear. Squirrels are pretty active and these were brown and brittle since they'd be attached to the nest. No matter what caused it, it was a really interesting shot!
@juliedance Thanks Julie! It was actually a big clump that had fallen out of a squirrel nest during a storm. I just picked it up and put it in the mulch pile (after I took the shot of course!).
@dmariewms Thanks Marie! @nancyperry Thanks Nancy! This cluster fell out of a squirrel's nest. I think that the leaves became brittle and the movement of the squirrels caused the lace effect- but the wind was responsible for blowing it out of the tree. It was a big storm!

@kimmistephens thanks Kimmi!
Thank you Kathryn!
Thank you Andy!
The b/w format was the best one to bring out that lacy texture.
