The Harvard Museum of Natural History

Thanks to Boston's City Pass we were able to visit several museums for a really great price. One of the options was Harvard's Museum of Natural History. Here's a sampling of some of the exhibits we saw.

Left side (top to bottom): A display of bird eggs showing the smallest to largest in the bird kingdom; a view of the mineralogical gallery; a mural from the "Storied Walls" exhibit; and a sample of Franklinite from the Mineral collection. This stone is significant to me as we lived five minutes from the only place in the world where this stone can be found- Franklin, NJ- for 13 years!

Center: I think you can figure this one out!

Right side (top to bottom): Is it real or is it glass? Replicas and models of over 4,000 flowers and plants in the Botanical Gallery are internationally known, and amazing in accuracy!; feathers; the "Encounters with the Americans" exhibit; a close-up of another mineral in the "Minerals, Gems and Meteorites" exhibit.
I love these collections and your detailed descriptions. Thank you for sharing these with us.

Thank you all- you are so kind! I figure if you're looking at the pictures, you'd really like to know what you're seeing. But I've been having these dreams lately that I'm dressed like a tour guide...

Thank you Colleen, Patty and Vickie! I'm glad you like them. There's a couple more left from the trip and then it'll be back to life in the Poconos.
