It was just one of those days that I wasn't really drawn to anything I shot today. But this shot from yesterday kept coming back to mind. I felt like it had all the makings of a nice watercolor. So that's what I did with it!
@dakotaburns Thanks Donald! It's about half and half as I painted some of the original shot back in to bring out the details on the leaf and the background. @lisjam1 Thank you Lisa! @kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @maggiemae Thank you Maggie! The mist from the fog really brought out some beautiful colors yesterday.
@digitalrn Thanks Rick! I will have to check that out. I usually click on the thumbnail and it takes me to that person's 365 album. That's how I end up missing a lot of your second and third shots. So I will make it a point to track down the other pictures. I'm sure this can be credited to "great minds think alike"! @allie912 Thank you Allison. I carefully faded in some of the original picture with the effect so that your eye can't really detect the difference. @lyno Thank you Lyn. I considered myself self-taught and most of the time I really don't know what I'm doing! I just try different things out until I land on something I like. I always try to make it look like the photo was meant to be that way because I don't like a contrived look. It sounds like a good philosophy, doesn't it?! But really, I mostly experiment. I don't usually start out with a specific end product in mind. @prttblues Thanks Bev! The snow wasn't too far away though. That white band along the bottom and the white patch in the upper right hand corner was snow, but the effect smoothed it out so much that you can't tell that's what is was. @sangwann Thank you Dione!
