When I thought of what I might take to depict my son Erick for a "portrait without people", I thought of two approaches. Both shots show who he is but the first is more about the connection between Erick and his trade. Whereas this approach is more about Erick the artist. Believe me the artist also appears in the work he does by trade. But this basket has a sentimental side to it. Erick made it for me while away at camp one summer. I've used it to hold my fruit ever since he gave it to me. It's a lovely piece and something I treasure.
