One of the categories in the photo club competition this month is flat. I was trying to find something around the house that would convey the idea from this pov. I'm not sure if it's exactly what I wanted to achieve, but I entered it anyway.
It is flat although I have no idea what is it? :) What is it? Like the tones. Pictured you going round the house looking for what to photo and a smile came on my face because lately with this project I'm in the same condition constantly outdoors & indoors ;D
@axika Thanks Alexandra! It's a spatula for flipping pancakes and eggs, etc. Yes, I am constantly pulling things out of drawers, digging through memorabilia, and looking for something I haven't photographed yet. I have also made an impulse purchase or two just because the "item" in question would look good on 365! I have fun with it to be sure!
Haha--I didn't know what it was, either, but I think you've done a good job with "flat!" Nice DOF. I love looking at your photos because you often take such interesting ones of ordinary things.
When I think "I don't know what to shoot," I often think of your photos because you take the mundane and make it beautiful. I never would have guessed this was a spatula. Great shot.
@eudora@sgiesman Thank you Diane and Sarah! You know, I think it's a matter of developing your ability to "see". When you take the first look at a subject, it's often how you look at it out of habit. You'd see the spatula sitting on a counter and then go on with your day. But for me, photography makes you look at it again, and not like you always look at it, but in a different way. So instead of just looking at the spatula on top of the counter, I look at it as if I'm on the counter with it! Thanks so much for the compliments- they make me feel so good! @sarasdadandmom Thank you Terry! @mrssmith203 Thank you Carla! @digitalrn Thank you Rick!

Thank you Timothy, Taffy, Alia, Dione, and Jennifer! I wouldn't have thought of this if it wasn't for the competition.
@prttblues Thanks Bev! It's an old (but still looks like new) metal spatula that I think I got from my grandmother's house- I'm not sure how I ended up with it now. Anyway- I don't really use it much except maybe on the grill in the summer because being that it's metal you can't use it on Teflon or any other coated pan.
Thank you Kerri!
Thank you Gerry!
