I brought my "magic ball" to camera club tonight and it was a big hit! It was also the first time I really got an upside down world shot in it! Seeing these upside-down Gerber Daisies reminded me of the phrase I'd always say when my boys took a tumble- "Whoopsy Daisy!" It was such a funny sounding phrase they'd giggle instead of cry.
the stand is not so bad, but what i was thinking when we talked about it is an old style milk bottle, it has wider mouth and would hold the ball securely. brilliant idea or what? speaking of brilliant, this shot is brilliant!
Thank you everyone! It was a fun discovery and shot. I'm determined to do more with this thing- I'm sure there's a knack to it that I haven't quite discovered yet. Half the fun though is experimenting with it!
@summerfield That sounds like a great idea. Not only would the glass base blend in with the scene on the whole- it might actually throw in a few more reflections!
@sgiesman I think you're right Sarah! I'm storing that thought for the next time the grandkids visit!
Oh wow... what a cool shot, Ann! I wish I had one of those magic or crystal balls to have as a prop to see what I could do with it. I see so many 365ers using them. I put it on my Christmas list to Santa but he never came. I love how everything came out upside down. Lovely flowers too by the way! Well done :)
