Good things come to those who wait, and all good things must come to an end. Little Piggy's visit with Little Wahoo was a rainy but fun-filled day by Niagara Falls. There were many heart-felt promises of friendship when it was time to say good-bye and also many promises of getting together again. Although Little Wahoo and Little Piggy longed to stay together, they both knew they must return with the friends who brought them. Just as the last good-byes were about to be said, one of Little Wahoo's friends spoke.
"Wait! Wait!" a little voice said.
"Who is that?" asked M. Summerfield.
"It's me," said the little horse.
"Oh, Jojo! What is it that you want to say?" M. Summerfield asked with her eyebrows slightly raised.
"Willie, Pip and I have an idea. Well, really it's a request," Jojo said shyly.
"And what would that be?" asked Miss Ann who was now very interested in what a miniature horse, a TINY little pig and a not so purple little cow would be SO intent on asking at the very moment when she and Little Piggy must cross the Rainbow Bridge to the USA.
"Well...," began Jojo.
"We want to come with you to the United States!" blurted out the TINY little pig named Pip.
"You do?!" M. Summerfield exclaimed, "Are you sure about that Willie? After all, you and Little Wahoo are cousins. And Pip and Jojo, the United States is a big country and you've never been there before. You will be gone for a long time if you make this country your new home," she explained.
Willie (which is short for Wilhemnia) looked very carefully at Little Wahoo and then at Little Piggy and Miss Ann. "I have always wanted to be an explorer. I want to go to a new place and learn all about what it's like to live there. I think that Little Piggy and Miss Ann will take good care of us so I am not afraid to go. I am ready for an adventure!"
"Me too!" said Jojo.
"Me too!" said Pip.
"Well, if your mind is made up and Miss Ann says it's ok, then I will let you go," said M. Summerfield with a smile.
"Piggy and I would be delighted to have you come home with us!" said Miss Ann.
"Oh goody, goody, goody!" squealed Little Piggy.
And so after another round of kisses and hugs, loving words and happy well-wishes, the three adventurers and their new friends set off across the Rainbow Bridge and into the New World.
"Oh my!" thought Miss Ann as she packed them all into the car, "Have I got my hands full now!"
Thank you Brian, Sally, Alia, Alta, Nanci and Bev! Yes, you can tell I had a lot of fun with this. One more installment for this week but they'll be back again.
