October Words- Ships in a Bottles

Today's word was officially "bottles" in honor of Ships in Bottles Day. The critters were delighted to find out that Miss Ann actually had two!
Awesome shot

They both look very interesting - the ships! And small if the critters have anything to do with it!

The critters are going to have such an adventure this month - think of all the things they are discovering. I love this theme so much Ann!

Thank you all for the views, comments and favs! I agree- I'm fascinated with the process of this art. I'm not sure of all the particulars, but from what I can remember, the boat is assembled outside the bottle in a collapsed form so that it can fit through the neck and opening. Tips of the sails or parts of the boat are attached with a very fine line- sort of like fishing line- and then the boat is inserted into the bottle and glued into place. Once the glue has dried, the line it pulled so that it straightens up the sails and masts. Then the lines are snipped and pulled out. It's absolutely fascinating to see an expert do it and it was a long time ago when I saw it done, so I may not have all the details right- but I'll bet it's on YouTube!

Great shot, Ann. Looks like Piggy and friends are enjoying themselves and are finding nice things to play with in your house!
