I have always loved the Impressionists/Post-Impressionist painters so when I saw that Cezanne was chosen for this edition of the Artist's Challenge, I was quite happy! I remember my first exposure to Cezanne many years ago as a Fine Arts major and I was especially drawn to his still life pictures of fruit. I bought some oranges and made my husband wait two days before eating them so that I could get some shots of them first!! I had in mind to replicate one of his paintings exactly, but then decided I'd update his "look" with my own twist. So here it is, my "Cezanne" in all its colorful glory.
He must have like the subtle shades of colour in all the different fruits as there were so many! I haven't seen this one in his repertoire but as there were so many I just enjoyed looking at some of them! Yours does look like a painting!
@maggiemae Thanks Maggie! In my mind I thought I would replicate one of his, but in reality, I ended up with my own version (hence the title). The effect is a combination of two applications in my photo processing program. One is actually called Impressionist Painting.
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! After the photo shoot several have disappeared! Do you recognize the scarf? Did you see the tag? (o:
@salza Thank you Sally! @dibzgreasley Thank you Debs! You can only do what you have time for. Remember you are holding down a job and raising a son. My sons are grown and I am unemployed! @nicoleterheide Thank you Nicole! @joansmor Thank you Joan! Just a word of encouragement- you can copy his work quite easily. Check out his paintings by googling his name (Paul Cezanne) and then gather up things about the house that are similar to one painting in particular. You are creative! You did that upside down picture!! You can imitate Cezanne- I know you can!
@olivetreeann - hahaha! as a matter of fact, i was going to mention about that in my comment, but i got distracted when i reached for my orange. :-) but must admit didn't look at the tag. awesome!
Nice shot and very good processing, Ann. It's so artistic. It looks like a still life painting. The colors are amazing and really pop. You are so talented. Saw your flash of red theme post. I don't know if I could do a month of black and white. I am not that good at shooting in anything but color. I don't have the eye that many others here have when it comes to black and white. Have a great time with it. I know it will be a huge success.
@prttblues Thank you Bev! I think you could. You doubt yourself too much! And the only way to get the "eye" for it, is to practice it. Maybe you could try it for a week- the one with the flash of red- just to give it a try. @gratefulness Thanks Sandi! It might be slightly too vibrant for Cezanne, but I liked it anyway! @kali66 Thank you Kali!
