I took this picture three years ago as of yesterday! I was in Boston with a friend and we'd been walking all over town in extremely hot weather! Not good for me, but I was really glad to see the sights. At one point she realized I needed to sit down. We were following part of the Freedom Trail and came upon beautiful Park Street Church. Not only did we enjoy a nice rest, there was water for thirsty visitors and a friendly college student to answer any questions you might have about the church and its history.
My sister went to college in Boston and this was her church home for the four years she attended there. It was great to see that even though it's a very historical church it's not stuffy or stuck in tradition for tradition's sake. So it seems quite appropriate to finish off a week of churches with a steeple reaching to the sky, pointing us upward to the heavens.
Tomorrow a new architectural theme for Architectural August.
Great shot Ann. I'm enjoying our trip together in Architectural August!!
I used to have to go to the State House in Boston when I was working and walked by this church many times!
