I was trying to capture a quick shot of the NY skyline as we drove to Katie's recital, but... I failed miserably! So I had some fun editing it in post-processing. Once I'd turned it into an Impressionist masterpiece, I thought, "Why not hang it over the mantle?"
@dibzgreasley I had so much fun with this back in June (I think) 2015. I don't think I could do a whole month of it, but putting one up every now and then is fun!
It looks absolutely amazing over your mantle! It's a beautiful piece of art! If you converted it to black-and-white you could use just the picture as part of FOR.
@777margo Thank you Margo. No I didn't paint this. There is an oil painting over my mantle, but what I've done here is taken another picture I've processed and "inserted" in the frame via the magic of photo processing. Here's what it usually looks like: http://365project.org/olivetreeann/themes-and-comp/2014-09-10
@wendyfrost Thank you Wendy! @grammyn Thanks Katy! I started out with that in mind but it really didn't look all that good in black and white- there was more gray than anything else so it was kind of blah. @altadc Thank you Alta! Maybe on a rainy day- personally I think it looks better small! @bruni Thank you Bruni! How are you? I've been thinking about you lately and hoped that you made it to your holiday with Hans.

Thank you Margo! The other is far more special to me as it was painted by a good friend of my grandmothers and it used to be in my grandmother's home. NYC is nice, but I'd much rather have a country scene over my mantle than a city one. But I'm still glad you like it!
Thank you Nicole! I may post it, although it really isn't a great shot as I had to doctor it up this way to make it look good.
