When we arrived home after the funeral last night, I saw the moon up in the sky. My friend had mentioned that Mercury will be passing in front of the moon soon, so I knew that little dot in the middle shot must be the planet. I've yet to figure out how to capture both in focus. I have a book on night photography but have not thumbed through it yet. So, now I'm a little more motivated to get that done! I also find it strange that while the center shot recorded the sky with the correct color, both close-ups that I took turned the sky to black. Not sure why- but I guess it must have to do with the ISO and all that good stuff!
I am uploading in batches to catch my albums up SO help me out: view them all but comment on one or two- that'll keep me on track and thanks ahead of time!
I would like to take more photos of the night sky, one day when I have time to read up on it and learn how to do it properly. Well captured, I always like your moon shots.
Thanks ladies! Now that the days and evenings are getting warmer, I'll be even more motivated to get this down since it will finally be comfortable to be outside at night!

Thank you Nicole!
The moon shots are good but the Moon with Mercury, not so good- but I posted it anyway.
