I think they are very much like Lily of the Valley- a tuber-like root system helps them to spread quite prolifically in the right soil conditions. There were quite a few of them lining the sidewalk.
@rachealspictures Thank you Rachel! These are called Snowdrops. I think they are in the same family as Lily of the Valley, but I don't know for sure. They grow like them at least.
