They've Gone to a New Home

Over the years people have donated canes, crutches, walkers and other items of similar nature to our church in hopes that they would be passed on to those who needed them. This resulted in a massive amount (almost 20 pairs of crutches!!) of ambulatory equipment that was just collecting dust. I did a little research and found an organization that could take them, refurbish them and then give them to someone in need (Joni & Friends "Wheels for the World" program). This shot was taken before we took everything out of the storage room and brought them to one of their representatives. I needed a shot for my second album today and this one seemed as good as any to play around with and post.
You did a wonderful editing job on this! How come the photo is so small Ann?

I am glad that you found the group who would take them. Your edit speaks to the age of the items.

Our NHS will not take back crutches or frames, so wasteful! Fortunately we have charity shops that ( pre Covid anyway) do. Breaks my heart to see them "donated" at the rubbish tip!

I wonder how many of these lurk in peoples garages. Every so often at work we end up with a collection, that we return to the NHS.
Great edit!

This is a very unique subject but the way you have presented it with your processing makes it almost art

@ludwigsdiana I'm not sure what you're seeing Diana- it's the right size on my computer.

Thanks you Diana, Joy, Jackie, Carole and Katy! Yes, I'm glad we were able to find a home for them. The closet looks empty with only a few left to use if someone in the congregation needs them.

I'm glad they found a home.

I think Diana is referring to the fact that this photo does not fill the entire screen when we view it on your personal site like your other photos do. I know there’s a way to change the size of photos that we post but I don’t know how to do it. Sometimes when someone post a photo for what would you do they tell you to change the size of it before you work with it. I feel like I’m rambling and not making any sense I wish there was an easier way to try and explain this to you.

@randystreat Thanks Kathy!

@grammyn I sort of understand what you're saying but it's interesting because it looks like the right size on my screen. Oh well, it's not THAT great of a picture that I'd attempt to fix the size. It may be due to the fact I took this one with my cell phone- at least I think I did...

@olivetreeann that probably explains it
