I had been watching the news and keeping track of all the info on the Super Blue Moon and according to all the trackers the moon was scheduled to rise at 9:30 EST on August 30th. So I made sure all the dishes were washed, the food shopping put away, and grabbed my tripod and camera, ready to head down to the Delaware River to catch the moon as it came up over the horizon only to see the moon already up in the sky over the neighbor's house. Boy, was I disappointed!! So, instead of that rising moon, I ended up taking this moon shot instead and used tungsten lighting to give the blue moon an actual blue tint. I'm not sure I'll be taking a shot of the next one in 2039. I'll be in my 80's then- but who knows, maybe I will!
A wonderful blue Super Blue Moon capture after your disappointment. Here it was covered in a layer of misty cloud I wish I had done it the night before when it was beautiful.
Thank you Corrine, Joanne, Winghong, Dorre, Diana, Issi, Hannah, Kathy, Marilyn, Wendy, Beryl, Kathy, and Carole! I was thankful enough for this shot as there were no clouds obscuring the moon which has happened in the past. And I can get a regular moon rise at some point too, so I've managed to put yesterday's disappointment aside for now.
