The bulk of this composite is made of of Northy's photos- only the birds are mine- and of course the processing style which has become known as "annfoolery". I hope you like it Northy!
This is really terrific. Like Diana, I like that you put Northy on a box. I like that you converted it to b&w like Northy often does. And there is just so much interesting going on here. Really well done.

The box is one of Northy's pictures, as is the silhouette of the rabbit, the walking man and the chessboard; the birds are mine and the texture was added by the black and white treatment I chose. I should have saved the urls for them but didn't think of it until now.
Thank you Katy, Diana, Debbie, Jackie, Lesley, and Joan! I actually started out with a completely different idea in mind, but when I couldn't find the picture I was thinking of, these caught my attention instead. After reading Northy's comment about an image becoming the other person's vision and not hers when they processed it, the first thing that came to mind was trying to capture what Northy sees and adding my own twist to it- and this composite is what came out of that.
Thank you Beryl, Junan, Carole, Ferry, Wendy, Gloria, and Corinne!
Northy is such a great photographer with a distinct creative style. It was a challenge but in a really fun way. And all those layers are her photos with the exception of the birds- they're mine.
@summerfield i did... i really like what you've done here @olivetreeann !!! and love that you included the milk crate among other things... (that milk crate continues to intrigue me for some reason đŸ™ƒ)... anyhoo... i think this is such a cool bit of Annfoolery... thank you!
@northy I'm so glad you like it! I was slightly tentative when I started "stealing" your images for this. I was actually looking for a shot you'd taken of an open door that had a beam of light spilling into a dark room. I had this idea of putting you in that shaft of light and then fading you out somewhat like a ghost. I couldn't find it but I only went through one album and only through 2022. However when I started seeing some of your favorite subjects the collage started to form in my head. The crate was the perfect object to match with your pose. But I can't believe I forgot the penguin!! He should have been in there with the chess pieces. sigh....
@northy - i think that this is the best edit as it shows ann's @olivetreeann processing style, with due respect of course to the others who had a go with your photo. and ann also said it best, it's a collaboration -- a merging of both your genius.
thank you again for doing this Ann... i hope you are ok with me posting it on the 52Frames website... as i said, you'll get full credit and i will include a link to your project here... the 52F community is pretty nice - although a little more rule-bound than 365 đŸ¥´
@northy That was an interesting read- I'm glad the overall response was positive. It is a thought provoking question. I had a discussion of a "parallel universe" sorts this week about the role of AI in producing creative work. At what point does it leave the artist's realm of creation and become that of the computer's?
@olivetreeann i've shied away from this convo and tbh, i don't really know how AI works... to me the process is about imagining it and then making it so... if i didn't imagine it, then it isn't mine... if i rely on someone else to bring my vision to creation (whether another human or the computer), then it might have been my idea, but the resulting creation isn't mine... i mean, if i say - paint a unicorn on a cloud and you do - i'd say you produced the image, not me... the thing is, i see lots of shades of grey here... at some point it could be more of a collaboration if you know what i mean...
