These are the two favourite flowers I spotted while out with the walking group on Thursday.
I didn't know the name of the yellow one but when I got home I looked it up and found out it is an Isopogen Anemonifolius or Broad Leafed Drumstick. I think it looks quite pretty.
My favourite flower though is the one on the right and it is called a Flannel Flower. I love their soft petals.
A gorgeous diptych of these beautiful flowers - I would welcome both these wild flowers in my garden any day . my favourite being the Flannel flower ! would not surprise me that the flannel flower is not sold in garden centres over here ! fav
Very pretty, I like the one on the right.
If you have a cell phone Babs thereās an app called āPictureThisāthat can help identify flowers. I use it when Iām out hiking and the ladies want to find out the name of a particular wild flower.
@radiogirl Thanks, yes I do have a cell phone and know about the app but as we were with the walking group, taking photos and chatting along the way I didn't want to look up what the flower was at the time which is why I waited till I got home.
Both are beautiful and unfortunately neither of these grow in WA. I love flannel flowers and have only seen them a couple times when we've travelled east. Several other varieties of isopogon grow here but I only recall seeing pink varieties. The yellow is beautiful.
@beryl I just love the flannel flowers and will go back again to photograph them as we get closer to spring. They are only just beginning to flower at the moment.
