Check Out the Tail

Yesterday I posted a close up of a water dragon and today I thought I would post all of him. You can see the length of his tail in this shot.

This dragon is probably about one metre long.

I don't know why they call him dragon, he is so cute with that smile on his face. He does have a very long tail, very different in every sense to the lizards we are accustomed to here.

@happypat They are born with long tails and I think the ratio stays the same. I saw a Mum and a about 4 baby water dragons by the river at Morpeth a few months ago and the babies were running everywhere.

@koalagardens Yes, I love water dragons and I was lucky this one was sitting on a large rock so it was ideal for taking the photo.
