24th June 2015 - Red Rose

Filling in yesterday's missing shot.

I saw this rose hiding in the bushes and noticed how tight the petals are furled. I am looking forward to seeing it fully opened. This is a lone rose in the garden. I have never been very successful with roses.

@maggiemae I think it must be the soil Maggiemae the roses never seem to do as well as they did in my garden in Surrey. Yes we have the cold - even in summer it's not that warm!! LOL!!

Our roses do exceptionally well and we get extreme heat! I have always enjoyed growing roses but I don't have any at the moment as we are re doing the garden slowly using waterwise and drought resistant plants. I may put a rose in a large pot so that I still have one to enjoy.
