2016 07 27 Durdle Door

One from my holiday in Dorset. When we drove to the top at Durdle Door the light was awful - and there was no colour in the sea. For that reason I decided it was not worth climbing all the way down as I have lots of photos taken in much better light. So this is the view from the top - can you see the arch of the rock which is what is called Durdle Door. It is a very steep climb down and of course you have to climb back up again!!

This shot was very bland so I have taken it into Nik Colour Efex and used a couple of filters.
Fantastic shot.. The English have some great 'Place names'.. this looks very similar to Tunnel rock near Dunedin where @dide and I went July '15 .. and it was a steep walk down and of course back .. but well worth it..

The size of the people really give this credulity as to the size and majesty of the scene - you've done a great job with the processing too Fav It was lovely to see you today

Oh a lovely place to visit. Some of my husband's family live there and we used to visit often.

Great view - look that you had people there to provide the sense of scale - you were definitely up! Nice processing.

Wow--this came out great! It looks almost like a painting. Great textures/tones and landscape.

I'm with @taffy, it does look just like a painting. For a colourless day you've processed this photo very well indeed.

What an extraordinary name for the rock formation. What's the origin?
