This is a last ditch attempt at processing this photo. He had his lead on and I thought it would look better if I cloned it out. Wrong!! For some reason in PS when I try cloning i am getting big visible circles and the cloning is so obvious. Not sure what has happened - perhaps the settings have changed - I have always been able to clone using PS especially grass which you can normally do with no evidence.
Anyway to try to get rid of the cloning marks I took this into Topaz Textures - wrong again as it highlighted the cloning!!
Finally I took it into Nik Silver Efex and converted to B&W. You guessed it - this is the only one where the cloning does not show. Blown out I know but for some reason I actually like it. I think its because his eyes really stand out like little black buttons!!
Any suggestions re cloning in PS gratefully received!!
Oops I almost forgot t tell you why I am posting another photo of my boy. I have thought long and hard about getting another puppy but have finally (after a few sleepless nights!!) decided not to go for it. I think it will be unfair on my sister to expect her to look after 2 dogs when I am away. Those of you who know me will understand I know.

i also like how his eyes stand out - very striking. can't help with ps i'm afraid as i'm reasonably useless at cloning - but will be interested to see what others offer ;)
We've been through the same process and with the same outcome so totally understand. I've had two rescue dogs and still get the PetRescue e-news. Some of the dogs really tweak my heart-strings.
