How lovely to see Pete again as he came up the lane from Hugglepit House to welcome us to the cottage. He and Denise are the owners but unfortunately Denise had an operation last Thursday on a hole in the macular and now has to spend hours leaning forward with her head resting on a box and will be out of action for a number of days. She sent Pete up to welcome us with the dogs. Anna (LHS) who my boys know well from last year. Misty their new whippet puppy and Chase the "sausage rescue dog" who belongs to Denise's son. It looks like the boys are going to have great fun playing with these three as they all seemed very friendly after a few sniffs!! LOL!!
It has been heavy rain this morning and we are taking it easy. I am slowly recovering from the long drive - my knees do not like being in the car for so many hours and my back has joined in too!! Getting older and I am finding the long drive quite exhausting now.
I have been sitting looking out into the garden watching a big fat pheasant, a pair of partridges, a woodpecker and many other tiny birds. Finally the squirrel came to call and is sitting on the bird table eating the sunflower hearts. What a wonderful place to be able to sit and watch the wildlife in the garden.
Ooh the sun has just come out - better get a move on and get out with the boys!!
