My entry in the current b&w challenge "Fashion" as you can see my knowledge of fashion is hanging in a shop window, btw those tatty looking jeans are for sale,
Good grief! The older I am the more things I just don't get and jeans with ruddy great holes in them is one of them. Glad I am old now and built for comfort rather than fashion.
love the clean and sharp detail.. the conversion works a treat on this image.. i don't like the clothes etc but am faving your work..
i'm with Babs @onewing on not 'getting it'.. i never 'got it' when my youngest took her brand new levis and slashed them before putting them into the washer so the cut edges would fray.. her father had to be reminded of what he wore during the 'hippy' days. that shut him up!!
that was 30 years ago.. one would think youngsters would have outgrown this old 'fashion' by now.. they need to find something new.. maybe clothes which cover the 'important to hide' bits?? i was always for comfort.. the fashions just passed on by without touching me.. still the same now..
@jorlam Thank you for your great comments and fav, Jorlam they are always appreciated, my sisters both older than me would purchase jeans at great expense, then put the on and sit in a hot bath to shrink them to their body shape another trick was to pour bleach on them in places to age them, lol:) Babs @onewing
@terryliv I'm with you on that Terry, as a young man I would dress as smart as I could afford and was never seen in out in tatty cloths, I needed all the help I could get to attract the ladies:)
@quietpurplehaze If your looking for a pair for those warm summer days Hazel, they are available in a Primark store near your for as little as £15:00 inclusive of VAT, shoes, handbag, Tshirt and woolly hat would be extra:)
Great shot for the challenge Peter. I really like this display, there are so many things to look at in this image. :) Ps the jeans can stay in the display
@novab Thank you for your great comments Nova, I was just looking at those jeans they are not very practical for the North of England with all the rain we get:)
in the olden days, you go to a department store to buy new jeans before your old ones become like that pair on the left. now you go buy them. but what gets me are the cut up shorts that leaves nothing to the viewer's imagination. well, at least, the generations after us are preparing for when they all go back and leave in caves! thank you for your entry, peter. much appreciated.
@summerfield Thank you for your wonderful comments how times change, I was brought up on a farm in rural Lincolnshire never saw a department store until I travelled to London as a uni student possibly why my knowledge of fashion is limited, lol:)
