highland light infantry

It's Armed Forces Day here in the UK, a celebration that was introduced here as recently as 2006.

This is a photo of a photo of my Dad, who served in the Highland Light Infantry from 1934 to 1948 as a musician (he played clarinet and saxophone). He entered service at the age of 14, and was discharged on medical grounds aged 28, having contracted TB whilst serving abroad.
What a wonderful keepsake of your father, a great, truly vintage photograph!

Looking at your profile photo I think you look just like your dad. Music runs in your family. Great photo of the old photo. I should do that myself, retake all the family vintage photos.

@bardejov Thanks, Bardejov, you're not the first to point out the likeness. He encouraged us all to play - some took to it better than others!
@bluesteel44 Thank you, Kate!
