lavender fields forever by peadar

lavender fields forever

Got home from work, nice sunny day. Jump in car down to these fields - the traffic is light due to Olympics (!), get there in 15 minutes, the sky has clouded over and the evening light is awful. So, this didn't turn out the way I wanted, so I've relegated it to the Extras album!
I see what you mean about the light, stupid clouds causing flat light. Beautiful scene though and you should go back when the light is better, the composition with the road and the hedge in the field to the right is perfect.

What a stunning landscape to have at your beck and call, however! I will look forward to seeing this one again!

You don't live in Kent do you? There are similar ones near my house. Lavender is not necessarily for the elderly.

@alison53 Alison, yes, I live in Kent!
@fannyb Fanny, it's an amazing area. A local farm sets up massage tents in the middle of the lavender fields, I suspect I won't get a shot of that...

Can we zero in just a bit? No details or post code but I live near lavender fields too which is why I ask. OMG, we could be neighbours......

And I live in Kent but there are lots of lavender fields in this area I realise. The haze of purple is quite something.

@alison53 Alison, this photo is taken in the Darent Valley above Shoreham and Eynsford.

Aha, so yes so if you live there, we are virtual neighbours. Interesting...... My son went to school in Otford many years ago, my daughter in Tonbridge. I know the area very well. The view from the train between Victoria and Kemsing/Borough Green is very lavender at this time of year.
