Extras: another from a recent trip along the Oxford Canal.
Aside from the glorious seclusion out in the depths of the countryside, canals do, of course, often go through villages, towns and cities. This usually makes for an interesting half hour or so as onlookers gather to watch you navigate your way through the locks. No pressure there then!
This boat is just short of 70' long (about 21m), which is the maximum all the locks are engineered for. When you are steering with a single rudder from the back, it seems like there is an awful lot of boat out in front of you!
@lyndamcg Lynda, maps of Blackburn and Wigan show canals through the town centre with locks - maybe you could Google images and see whether they're worth investigating for a great 365 opportunity!
