I've never managed a decent moon shot before (and, you might say, still haven't!). I guess the haze of London and typical British weather make it difficult. Last night the moon seemed to be shining particularly brightly, so I thought I'd have a go. And here is the result.
Thats very good. Just a wee bit of the terminator visible, so almost full and good clarity on Tycho and other impact craters. Nice one, mister! I helped my son with his Astronomy project as he had to photograph through a moon cycle. We had some crazy middle of the night wanders around the garden at one point, but it worked! Your settings work well. I settled on 200 ASA, f8 and a shutter speed of 1/250. It produced consistently sharp shots on the extreme of my zoom, which only goes to 300. Fun to play with and I learned a ton about the moon while I was at it!
