We're off to see the wizard the wonderful wizard of Oz ..because because because because because...

...because of the wonderful gift I got ........my daughters bought us some tickets for my birthday !!!!

On Saturday we had a 'day trip' to London's West End (same a NYC's Broadway) to see the musical theatre production of The Wizard of Oz.

Going to the theatre is a bit like waiting for a bus......you don't see one and then all of a sudden two come along together (we went to the theatre last weekend too)

Anyway this is my second selfie. ...first one here....

Rather strangely, both Selfie's have been on 'London away days' ...Wembley and the West End

Rather strangely, both Selfies have me with my sunglasses on my head !! I'm not trying to be cool, it's just I had no room in my pockets to put then ..I mean mobile phone , wallet, keys , credit cards, tickets, loose change, pegs (yes a clothes peg ....took from Ruby when she tried to eat it) ....I feel a @sleepdozer57 'contents of my pockets shoot coming on' :)

It was a cracking show, with lots of special effects and classic showtunes !! London was busy and the weather mixed..one minute the sun was out next minute it was overcast and cool !!

This is shot at the front of the famous London Palladium theatre in the morning.

Left Arnold about 08:15 to get the 09:02 train from Nottingham station, returned on the 18:30 from London St. Pancras, back home in Arnold about 21:00 ...a long day

A bit behind with commenting again. I need to catch up on my postings too...a couple of days behind and a slot to fill from Friday too !!!

Spoken like a true Northerner - "...London was busy."!!!
I'm laughing Phil.
And Happy Birthday when it is.

Great selfie & glad you enjoyed the day . I have seen bits of 'Wizard' on TV because of the 'find Dorothy' bit & I thought it looked very good, did the dog behave ?

Fun selfie, did they rifle your eclectic pockets before letting you in, as part of the security checks mentioned on that bill board behind you? If so I wonder what they made of the peg? I must admit to never having seen a musical. My mother banned them - she was not keen. A touch of Hyacinth Bucket there I think! I would feel guilty just attending one I can see her look of disapproval and disdain right now staring at me from beyond the grave (or watering can mixed with hoof and horn and popped on the garden - my dad said it never grew so well!!) It could be worse I guess -my grandma targeted pubs, and my dad never felt happy going into one as she regarded them as dens of iniquity :-)

Lovely selfie, you look very pleased with yourself, and I dont blame you. Ive never seen this show but the film one of my favourites. By chance I spent yesterday with a peg in my back pocket too. Took it off Holly and spent all day thinking whats that in my pocket? oh yeah its that peg! lol

@tashy Tashy 'pegs in pocket', strange what dog goodies we put in our pocket, I failed to mention a little 'dog treat' too ..a mini biscuit bone:)

@whippeteer Ahh Frances I've never heard my wife describe the contents of my pockets as 'eclectic'. We got into musical theatre when both my daughters took up playing various instruments at school (junior and secondary) and they played various musical theatre songs. In fact my eldest daughter went onto uni' to study music and is now a music teacher at secondary school

great shot Phil - another good selfie! sounds like you had a top day.

@phil_howcroft Good title for a photo "electic pockets" My mum was a music teacher and very good on the johanna especially for a self taught person. Grandma paid for just one lesson to help her get going with the basics! But she had very precise tastes - usually classical, but she did like ragtime. I Love music but am pretty useless on instruments I have a dusty flute and a dusty guitar and some dusty penny whistles - I did get reasonable good on the whistles but they drive the dogs nuts so I stopped playing when I met Nick and took up whippeteering - to be proficient on an instrument is a wonderful skill to have. Do they play stuff together?
