Wednesday was a bad day for photographs. I had a busy day at work sorting a few IT failures and I also had a phone call from one of the neighbours across the street who was panicking because her husband had cut his leg wide open in a garden fall ( I had to call an ambulance for her and applied a bit of basic emergency first aid ...apply pressure to the wound and keep the foot raised).
Anyway by the time I'd done all that and waited for the ambulance , I didn't really have much inspiration to take any images.
So this is a shot from Saturday , of some tourists outside the 'Nottingham corner house'............doing what we all do.....taking images.
glendq, the corner house is a relatively new buildiing in Nottingham, it has a few restaurants, bars, cafe's, cinema, and casino. It is on the site of the old Nottingham Evening Post offices and printers.
Great that you are the sort of neighbour to be relied upon in an emergency, as if I couldnt have guessed. Love this photo, especially their face expressions.
Hahaa good catch - is that a cinema? Sounds like you were a knight in shining armour - you could have asked them to wait until you'd got your camera out!! ;0)
@glendq thanks glendq, the corner house sits on the location of what was once the offices of the local newspaper.....The Nottingham Evening Post...the building was knocked down and we now have a nice modern complex full of restaurants, bars, cafes, cinema and a casino.
@judithg you are almost right the corner house does contain a cinema...the corner house sits on the location of what was once the offices of the local newspaper.....The Nottingham Evening Post...the building was knocked down and we now have a nice modern complex full of restaurants, bars, cafes, cinema and a casino...it actually is a nice building ..the front is smoked glass and ultra modern and the pavement cafes are vibrant and full of city life !
