The title isn't a chapter from a bible in St. Marys church, Arnold, it's the time on the clock on the clock / bell tower
I've gone all monochrome, tried to emphasise textures, tones and contrast.
I don't know if I should have zoomed in even closer, but the angles of the top of the tower and sides seem to add a bit more interest and help frame the shot a bit.
St. Mary's church Arnold has featured quite a bit in my 365 and will probably feature a few times more !
Shot today on a wet and dull walk with my little photo assistant Ruby with me !!
You have caught so many different textures so well, it's a really interesting shot. I particularly like the shape of the clock, something I would probably missed otherwise. Bertie is usually with me when I am clicking away, he waits patiently and I imagine him thinking 'oh no, not that little black box again!'
Oh little Ruby we haven't seen her for a while ...never short of a photo with her around !!!! Yes this is the wedding venue next year so hopefully we will see lots more then !! Nice stone texture & rather amazing belfry shutters, wouldn't have been as interesting if you had gone in closer as the wall would have just been flat & no substance !
Lovely black and white shot! Good balance of highlights and shadows. Nice textures and tones of gray. Wonderful subject and capture, Phil! Ruby is a great assistant, I'm sure! Give her my best!
Aha! what a different shot to Easter Sunday!! B&W makes for a more dramatic shot and seems to show textures better, love it.........the shutters are a bit different than the norm.........
Lovely shot and a great use of b&w. Nice processing job, Phil. I think you got the framing right too. It would have be easy to over crop and it wouldn't have been as interesting.
