A busy day today..this morning we went to Ruddington for a steam train ride on the Great Central Railway.
We came home for some lunch and then ?My mate Bill (a fellow Bolton Wanderer), went to Eagle Valley to watch Arnold Town play Thackley in the Premier Division of the Northern Counties Eastern League.
It was freezing at Eagle Valley ! The official stats from the website stated 41 spectators were watching, but I counted 45 (sad eh !!!)
This pic show Arnold Town (maroon jerseys) attacking the Thackley defence
I quite like the shot (I used the sports mode of the Canon 450D to shoot this...apparently it tracks moving objects to focus), because the shot has movement and an in focus ball !
Final Score
Arnold Town 1 Thackley 1
Simon Wilkinson 80 Luke Hudson 35
HT: 0-1
Attendance: 41
Arnold are bottom of the league. They had 1 point deducted for playing an unregistered player and 10 point deducted for financial irregularities (they are appealing the 10 points)
In case you are wondering where Thackley is.....it is in West Yorkshire....north of Bradford and West of Leeds
Ohh and I cloned a football floodlight coming out of one of the defenders heads ....I've quite got into the clone tool !
Nice colourful action shot.I t doesn't say much for the match though if you had time to count the spectators! I do that at church sometimes - count the congreagation.
Great action shot of the beautiful game! I though for one moment you had added another football floodlight coming out of another players head for a laugh! It is late and way past my bed time 😂
