Reach for the sky ..... green on blue

A rose reaching for the sky out of our garden trellis

I shot this at f22 but the 45mm end of the zoom has still given it a shallow DOF.

Anyway I like the sun lighting the underside of the leaves and it has made a nicely lit, colourful shot.

A really hot Summer Sunday afternoon ...and I mean really hot !

I will do another shot of this once the buds bloom (red roses)

I'm glad you pointed out the light on the leaves....I don't look for light for some reason...and it's beautiful when I do see it. It's always the COLOR that I see first. Nice photo Phil!

I lovely composition and I agree seeing the sun through the leaves is very pretty. Well Phil, I am home in Richmond where the weather would put your "really hot" day to shame! We were so lucky to have perfect weather just about every day of my Oxford visit. I will look back on this trip as one of the best weeks of my life (after my wedding and the birth of my kids!)
