My daughter Claire sent me a whatsapp picture and message saying have you seen the sunset Dad?
I peeked my head out of the curtains and saw a sky on fire.
I quickly grabbed my coat and DSLR and ran down Coppice Road to catch the last few minutes of the sky.
If I turned my camera 90 degrees to the left the sky was a purple blue colour ....It was an impressive few minutes.
If I'd had a few more minutes I could have gone down to either St. Paul's or St. Mary's churches to get the sunset against the spires / towers....but as it is you are stuck with houses, chimney pots and street lamps !
I don't know if I should have gone a more letter box'ish on the crop to take a bit of the sky off.
Woowee! Fantastic capture Phil - you have really succeeded in catching the wonderful colours and light here. The red part of the sky looks almost as if its boiling! superb shot.
@swilde Sue thanks.....I will listen to your advice :)
@happypat thanks Pat, my over indulgence in 'letterboxes' could have ruined my pic :)
@tishpics thanks patricia, i see your 'boiling point' comparison :)
@steveh thanks steve, the moors of belmont and rivington are fantastic backdrops for sunsets :)
