This is my first ever SLR ...An Olympus OM20, bought circa 1982.
I never really utilised in properly. Holiday snapshots, occasional family events. I took some decent pictures when my daughters were little.
I never bought any lens for it other than the 50mm f1.8 lens that came with the camera.
There's a slide film in it at the moment. I suspect it has been in there for the best part of 6 years. I took a couple of pics of Ruby with it this afternoon, but I've still got 20 shots to take on the 36 exposure film.
It's in mint condition. If you view large, you can see the "passed" sticker on the 50mm lens :)
It's incredibly light compared to a DSLR.
When I took a picture of Ruby, I was on 'auto pilot'...and looked on the back of the camera to view the image !!!!
Great shot of a classic camera -I found them a tad too small for my lengthy digits and went for a Pentax k1000, Nick went and sent the cupboard I stored it in to auction complete with camera zoom, wide angle and 2 standard lenses - someone got more than they bargained for. I was gutted when I realised where it must have gone! It survived three years in Africa and I took some stunning shots with it! I have to remember to actually focus and set the light meter if I use a film camera! I keep meaning to dig out the old man's Leica I inherted when the old boy died and shoot off a role of film on it...
Looks in perfect condition Phil...you look after your stuff well!! My grandson would be very interested in this old camera ....he is sort of into proper film cameras. Will be interesting to see the results. Can you get anyone to develop them these days?
@happypat the film inside is a boots slide film....you pay for processing of the slides up front...I will have to contact customer services to see if they still do them :)
