Went to my Mums, took her some shopping, cooked her some lunch, had a natter.
Went to the football to see Bolton Wanderers squander a two goal lead and draw with Bournemouth 2-2
Drove home to Nottingham.
Jane and I drove to Trent Bridge and the famous "Nottingham Boat Club" venue, to meet our friends Mark and Gloria, to see a charity concert in aid of Cancer Research, featuring two tribute bands....The Kinx (a tribute to the Kinks) and The Modfathers (a tribute band to Paul Weller of The Jam)
Watched the concert, drove home, caught the end of Match of the Day and then watched "The Championship highlights" to see just how bad Bolton were against Bournemouth
This is two members of The Kinx in full musical flow. We had a good sing along to "Waterloo Sunset" and "Lola"
A busy "all day and all of the night"
The concert was good (sold out...250 guests at £11-00 per ticket) and I got a few half decent shots with my 450D on it's top ISO setting (ISO 1600).
A long day indeed Phil....sounds a great night & you could let your hair down......all that era of music sounds very young to me!!! Love these two having a real high old time! Good cause helped too which is always the idea!
Your day was certainly packed, and it sounds like you were a good son, good husband, good friend and good citizen. Not many can say that all in one day!
I didn't check out the link but I'm assuming they're a cover band...very nice! We have a local band called "Back in Black." I'm sure you can guess who they cover! Glad you got to sing L-O-L-A!
