Well I missed a week because (a) last week was nice weather and we seemed to spend quite a bit of time in the garden in the evening (b) I helped out at the school summer fair on night and (c) I've been doing some research into partioning my laptop such that it can run Linux and Windows together.
My solution to (c) was to install Ubunto (a linux operating system onto my laptop). It's quite geeky, but it's free, runs mega fast and supports lots of photo editing suites and tools. I dowloaded "darktable" an open source competitor to Adobe Light Room. I already use GIMP but it runs so slick and sweetly on linux as opposed to windows
This is my Ubuntu home page on my desktop. I need to do a bit more research (I cannot see my media server yet) , but first impressions are bye bye windows !
Ive never looked back after buying a mac. No virus software and never had a problem since ditching Microsoft, the latest operating system was also free.
Oh I have geeky friends who run nothing else! I wonder why Windows is so successful sometimes - but I don't wonder too loudly as I know the head of UK research and quite a few other Microsoft employees!
Linux has some great open source programs ...... it's come on a long way since I last used it judging by your photo! :)
Still can't gel with GIMP at all ....... all but given up on it :(
