Sea, Beach, Woods, Sky, Umbrella, Bikes and Jane

We've been to Corfu for a weeks holiday

It was a late decision to go. Booked Wednesday, Flew out Friday !

We stayed in St.Spyridon Bay on the North East coast of Corfu. A little village with a hotel, three restaurants and two bars and that's about it.

The beach in the village was quite busy, but we hired cycles for the week and rode 2.5km along an unnamed road / path , through some pine forests to a beautiful beach that hardly anyone visited.

On Saturday afternoon I counted 9 groups

Me and Jane
A German couple
Three Greek Families.
A Greek Lady with her two children and two dogs.
A Greek Man reading his book.
A man in a wet suit flippers, snorkel and harpoon.
Two young men who set up there umbrella perched in between some secluded rocks

On a midweek morning we would have the beach to ourself until about 11 am ! Maximum occupancy on a midweek never exceeded about 6 groups !

No amenities on the beach other than an occasional arrival of a man selling fruit from the back of his van for 10 minutes.

Stunning views across the water to the mountains of Albania. I have a few more pictures to share of this location :)

This picture was took with me standing waist deep in the sea with my little Panasonic TZ7 ! Worth the shot though

I lost my wedding ring in the sea, a combination of sun cream and being in the water too long causing my fingers to shrink.
The shot from that crystal clear water and that pebbly deserted beach is so lovely.

Beautiful shot. I love, particularly, the crystal water. I'm not sure I would enjoy myself on a deserted beach.

That water looks divine! I hope you found your ring.

Sounds perfectly idyllic! Not many people, but two restaurants. I presume you stayed in the hotel. The clear water had to be somewhere in this region!

So sorry about losing your ring. I've read stories about college rings turning up after many years but I'm not sure a wedding ring has enough information to track down the owner. At least it wasn't an engagement ring! And yes this picture is worth it!

@allie912 thanks allison, i asked a family who had flippers snorkels and masks if they could look for it. The young lad and hus dad spent 30 mins looking , but without luck

Bah - that's not a beach! But lovely clear water and the sunshine! Lovely! You should have nicked the mask and snorkel and looked for it! I bet you got burnt! lol

What a great POV......so lovely to be able go on such short notice. Sorry about your wedding ring....a new one perhaps from this lovely place? Gosh I wonder other parts of our bodies might shrink in that water also??? hmmmm!

Shame about the ring Phil.....great sentimental value .......perhaps the next might have diamonds!! Sounds an idyllic spot......just enough people to have a bit if people watching but not enough to cause a disturbance! NZ beaches are like this ......you can count the heads! Lovely layers here.....I bet Jane shouted not to near with that lens!! She looks good!
