50 mono portraits at 50mm : No. 49 : Carnival Smile

I couldn't resist converting the lady in pink headgear to a mono shot as part of my 50 at 50mm project

I think it works fine as a mono shot.

Lovely smile, beautiful eyelashes (probably false but look good) and wonderful face painting! Difficult focus on dark skin?

What I mean was it difficult? You focus is perfect!

@maggiemae when doing portraits i put the autofocus on a single point (canon 450d) and lock it onto one of the eyes ... rather than multiple zonal point focussing ...seems to work :)

I think it works well in mono but the pink for me definitely has a certain 'je ne sais quoi'.

Fav. This has worked out very well in mono. Keep them coming.

I think carnivals are your forte Phil!

It does work beautifully Phil although this must have been a very vibrant shot originally. This is the trouble with me if I had seen this in colour I would never have been able to transform it into mono....you are more disciplined than me!
