On the end of the Stick by phil_howcroft

On the end of the Stick

I don't have a macro lens, so this was shot with my 50mm prime lens.

Hand held with some bumped up ISO.

I am not too sure what this insect is. It was shot at Arnold and District Camera Club last week.

Marlies one of our members has a collection of insects and this is one of them perched on a stick she brought to the club.

It was posing rather nicely for me. You can see it's little eyes

I presume it is alive! Amazing how light and real organisation can get really the best shot! fav

Fav. What a shot you have taken without a zoom lens! I don't have one either. I have a prime lens but very rarely use it.

It looks a bit like a stick insect, Phil (this is not a joke!) My 50mm lens does good macros too. (I had to search my followers to find you as my follow on your page had disappeared - some strange happenings on 365 lately - I've deleted one person about a dozen times and they keep reappearing despite Ross Scrivener's best efforts!)

Fabulous! Looks like a praying mantis to me, at least the ones we have in the US. A fav.

I'm adding my vote for praying mantis.
Very well done close up. Great example of what can be achieved when you know how to use the kit you have.
