We did some shopping and had some lunch. I also took the opportunity to have a little wander around my favourite bits of the city to look for some street photography opportunities.
Outside Boots on Lower Parliament Street there was a campaign taking place by the Nottingham East Labour Party Women's Forum.
The campaign was raising peoples awareness about charges for the morning after pill. Boots said they would drop the price in line with other retailers from October 2017, but haven’t yet done this.
I chatted to two of the members and asked if it was OK to photograph them.
This is Rachel who was doing some pavement art highlighting that " Family Planning is Not For Profit"
Rachel was sat on the floor, so I had to bob down really low to make eye contact. I also had to have a wide aperture to ensure I got a blurry background.
Rachel's friend Sian, asked me if I would post some of the pics I took on their Facebook timeline, which I have done.
This is stranger number 111 in my second round of 100 strangers. To find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
Every shot is a challenge to get it right - you don't have many chances. This is good for her slightly amused but questioning expression. The blurred background is good using f2.2!
Your portraits vary so much, it's good to see different ways you decide to illustrate the strangers you meet. We are all pretty much the same behind our visages with the same hopes & fears. Great shot Phil.
