When we were in Nottingham on Saturday I had a walk around Hockley and the Lace Market as it is an excellent place to meet a stranger for my project.
I also nipped into the Nottingham Contemporary Art Gallery and took a peek at their USA photography exhibition.
Outside the gallery I met Jade, who was "front of house" for a performance of music and spoken word that was about to start.
Jade gave me an information leaflet about the performance and recommended I stay and listen for a while.
While talking to Jade I told her about my 100 strangers project and asked her if she would be one of my strangers. As you can see by the photo , Jade agreed to take part.
There was quite a lot of low autumnal sun around the gallery front, so I asked Jade if she would stand in the shade.
Jade works as a Gallery Assistant at the Contemporary and graduated with an Arts degree from Manchester.
Jade naturally struck a great pose, looking at me from over her shoulder (perhaps that was her Art training).
I took a few shots of Jade and showed them to her on the back of the camera. I gave her a card and told her to contact me if she wanted copies of the shots.
I received an email yesterday from Jade asking if the photos were ready. I sent some over to her last night and Jade liked them and is going to post some on her social media.
I told Jade, I would post her mono shot as I really liked the mono images.
Thanks for being stranger 112 Jade, it was a pleasure to meet you.
This is stranger number 112 in my second round of 100 strangers. To find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
