These are the rocks at Cala Moll in Cala Ratjada, Mallorca.
My second picture of our holiday to Mallorca and my second pic posted with my new Samyang 12mm f2 lens.
Monday morning had overcast skies, so we took the 09.30 bus from Cala Mesquida to Cala Ratjada.
Cala Ratjada is a beautiful town with a very modern and contemporary feel.
We had a stroll around the town and as we were approaching the beach at Cala Moll , Jane suggested we sit on the rocks.
It was my birthday and Jane produced two little bottles of Cava out of her bag and two Cava Glasses. So we had "Cava On The Rocks", that's not Cava with Ice Cubes, but Cava sat on the rocks (see what I did there). A nice touch by Jane don't you think.
Anyway, back to the picture. I like the sky clouds and the two people on the cliff edge. I was a bit worried about the stone in the foreground as I think it might be a "blocker" into the frame, but having studied the shot I think the foreground rock gives the image an almost 3D feel. I also like how the wave curves around the shoreline and takes us into the left hand corner of the frame.
Edited in Rawtherapee and GIMP. I hope you like the image as much as I do.
Oh and after lunch the sun broke through the clouds and we were back on the beach in Cala Mesquida
I so like as much...great scale and comp...rule of thirds, leading lines, all that good stuff...quite the new lens. I'm looking forward to seeing more (I always look forward to seeing your images) and, Happy belated birthday.
What a great idea Jane had - and it seems so romantic to me, too. Fabulous capture of this beautiful scene, great textures and the two persons on top add some spice to a wonderful shot. Fav.
Btw hope your birthday was fantastic.
