Urban : Arnold Working Mens Club by phil_howcroft

Urban : Arnold Working Mens Club

Continuing with my urban series of photos.

This is the "emergency exit" to Arnold Working Mens Club, Arnold, Nottingham

The club closed in the spring of 2015 and it is now an empty shell.

It looks rather sad and derelict. This is the view from the Leisure Centre / Bonnington Theatre car park and doesn't really give a good impression of the town to visitors.

This is my second photo in a row of an "Arnold brick wall". I don't know what you would call this style of photography, perhaps a "Wally" or "Wallie" !!!

Shot with my Samyang (Rokinon) 12mm wide angle on my Sony A6000

Post processed in Rawtherapee and GIMP with a Kodachrome 25 film emulation

Staring at the brickwork makes my eyes dizzy, it seems to move. Intriguing that there is a window open, even though it is barred. Perhaps someone is still inside waiting for the bar to open........

I was wondering if it's new door, and if the old one was double width. (Looking at the different bricks used).

@kwind thanks for your nice words

@casablanca good shout and spot 're the open window and waiting for the bar to open . I have been in the club twice 3 times ( in the 30 something years I have lived in the town ) and I think the open window is the gents toilets !!! 3 year old derelict toilets ... one shudders to think 😀
