Meet Kevin, my 3rd stranger from Nottingham Pride 2018
I saw Kevin and his wife walking down the hill towards the start of the Pride Parade.
Kevin's pink silk shirt and chain of office made quite a statement, so I decided to ask him for a photograph.
It was a really bright and sunny day and there were not many shaded areas. I asked Kevin if he would stand in the dappled shade by the side of Marks and Spencers . I'd used the location in previous years, so I knew it would be good.
When I approached Kevin I asked if he was the Mayor or Sheriff of Nottingham as I'd seen he had a chain around his neck. I thought Kevin said he was deputy leader of Notts County Council, but a google search showed me that Kevin is Vice-Chairmen for the Communities and Place committee,
Kevin's was a councillor between 2009 and 2013 and is now in his second stint when he was re-elected in 2017 .
Whatever political party you support , it is important that we have locally elected hard working councillors supporting the people of the community. Kevin's profile and the committee's he's sat on suggest he is one of those people.
Thanks for being stranger 138 Kevin, I wish you luck with your councillor career
