It's become a bit of a tradition in the Howcroft household to watch the BBC2 New Years Day Concert from Vienna / Wien, with a bottle of champagne, together with a cheese and biscuit selection and a few olives, nibbles etc.
This year while in Sainsbury's Jane spotted a bottle of Gran Campo Viejo Cava Brut Reserva.
Campo Viejo, make great wines, especially the full bodies reds, so on the reputation of Campo Viejo, we changed our custom from Champagne to Cava
The Cava was lovely and so was the music, even little Ruby (our whippet) quite liked the music, enjoying the trombone crescendo to a "Transaction Waltz".
The wine comes highly recommended.
After the Concert I listened to the football and the day ended badly as Bolton Wanderers were thumped 6-0 by Hull City.. I've seen the goals on Sky Sports - shambles and pathetic are not overstating how bad the defending was !
Anyway, Happy New Year to all my friends and followers on 365 . Thank you to everyone who has commented or faved my pics. Every one is much appreciated
Sorry about your team Phil; they have known better days. As a lifelong Forest supporter I'm looking like this today 😀!! Unusually missed the `New Years Day concert but a second chance this evening (no champagne, but there are quite enough bubbles in the music) Maybe there's a shot of Ruby enjoying the music? Happy New Year to you both!
Well strangely enough fir the first time fir years I missed this today! Instead of eating at lunchtime we ate tonight so it’s thrown me off course with routine! I’m cross with myself now! We had an Echo plus given us yesterday so was listening to that as I prepaired our roast dinner.
Celebrating in grand fashion. I rarely sit for lunch or dinner with a bottle of wine on the table, makes digestion easier, don't you agree (and the tongue for chatting looser, haha). Thank you for your nice comments of my shot of yesterday. You are one of my esteemed friend on 365 and I always look forward to see your beautiful posts. Sorry for Bolton, seems they have reached rock bottom.
Happy New Year to you and yours! Look forward to your photos this year too, always a treat.
