I get Pinterest feeds of topics I like. I got a feed about displaying vintage lenses, one of which was shelves against a chalkboard.
I thought it was a good idea and showed it ti my wife. To my surprise she really liked it and suggested I create a display in our dining room.
"It will look good against the black high gloss sideboard and dining table"
So I found some nice "floating shelves" off the internet, a tin of blackboard paint (£5 from Wilko), some chalk (£0-50 Wilko) and a set of paintbrushes (£3 Wilko)
Here you have it "Phil's Vintage Camera Corner"
Looks good don't you think.
Top Row, Left To Right:
My Dad's old Rodine Camera, Italy, 1948
Fed 4 Rangefinder, USSR 1970's
My Minolta Hi Matic G 1980
Zenit E , USSR 1969
Praktica LTL. East Germany, 1975
Zenit TTL , USSR 1980 (rescued from Camera Club cupboard)
Pentax ME, Japan , 1978
I can tell how much this line-up means to you from the trouble you took to shoot this photo. It's a great display! fav (You didn't paint the sideboard with blackboard paint - did you?!)
What a great idea - love it! There's plenty of scope for changing the display if you fancy, or you could always use liquid chalk if you wanted something permanent.

30 years of cameras!
Hi everyone , thank you for the wonderful set of comments and faves, I am struggling for content at the moment, the days are short , mostly grey and damp and that's not a good combo for someone who's fave genre is street photography / street portraits
