I'm a bit behind on my 365 uploads, I've missed a few days this month . It happens, sometimes we need a few days off.
Anyway , Nottingham Speakers Corner, shot a couple of weeks ago.
The Brian Clough, OBE, statue is the location.
Cloughie, perhaps the greatest England manager, that never was...everybody wanted him to manage the national side, but the Football Association didn't have the bottle to do so ...
"I'm sure the England selectors thought if they took me on and gave me the job, I'd want to run the show. They were shrewd because that's exactly what I would have done” – on never becoming England
"If God had wanted us to play football in the clouds, he'd have put grass up there." On the importance of passing to feet.
"I wouldn't say I was the best manager in the business. But I was in the top one." Looking back at his success.
Lovely capture of this beautiful building. I remember his name always being mentioned by people for the England job back in the day. I’d always assumed he didn’t want it. He’d have been awesome.
The Alchemist building steals the show for me. The statue though is wonderful, so expressive!
I love your B&W pictures
P>S> I just saw this is from a Leica camera. I'm envious :-)
@casablanca it is a good location and Cloughie always gets a crowd...I often say "Hi Brian" when I walk by ...sad don't you think !!!
